Cadimare is a hamlet of the municipality of La Spezia, one of the villages of the Gulf of Poets, which – every first Sunday of the month of August – compete for the Palio del Golfo along with other 12 villages of the Gulf such as Portovenere, Tellaro and Lerici. Cadimare is also the one who has won the most Palios ever, in 2019 in the Seniores category, and the last one in 2021 for the Juniores section.
In the quiet village, with the typical terraced houses with colorful facades, we find the parish church of Nostra Signora del Pianto and a few small businesses, including two excellent restaurants. The first is the Cà Da Mà, a fish restaurant leaning against the Church, and the second is the family-run Trattoria al Centro.
For those who prefer pizza there is also an excellent pizzeria. For breakfast and aperitivo you will find two bars and a bakery who sells a few groceries too. All restaurant and bars have outdoor tables with sea view.
In the village there are also a newsstand/tobacconist (who sells bus tickets) and a private boat rental.
